As Nef, one of the real estate sector’s most innovative brands, continues to expand its investments both in Türkiye and internationally, it also remains committed to supporting education. Under a protocol signed between Nef and Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ), Nef will undertake the complete delivery of the School of Foreign Languages and the Science and Technology Centers, managing every stage of the project from construction and landscaping to final completion.
As part of the Nef Foundation’s educational initiatives, the organization has donated 36 preschools and primary schools, 250 classrooms, science laboratories, computer laboratories, and workshops, as well as 38 village schools in Eastern and Central Anatolia to the Turkish Ministry of National Education. The Foundation has also provided scholarships to 7,690,000 students and donated science kits to more than 1,000 primary schools through its science support program, continuing its long-standing contribution to education.
Building on these efforts, Nef will now construct and donate a School of Foreign Languages together with Science and Technology Centers to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, one of Türkiye’s leading universities. The facilities will be granted to the university under a 49-year usage agreement. Through initiatives such as this, Nef aims to contribute not only through its real estate developments but also by supporting regional educational advancement. Following the issuance of the necessary construction permits, the project will be completed and delivered within 36 months, including construction, interior finishing, decoration, and landscaping.
Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony held at SUBÜ, Erden Timur, Chairman of the Board of Nef, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to education since 2015:
“Education is the most powerful driver of social development. Contributing to this transformation is as valuable as building thousands of schools. Over the years, we have constructed and delivered numerous schools to the Ministry of National Education. The happiness we experience at every handover is truly meaningful because every young person educated in these classrooms will contribute to our country’s future. For this reason, we will continue supporting universities, particularly those focused on productive innovation. I hope this protocol with Sakarya University of Applied Sciences will bring lasting value to our country.”
Emphasizing the significance of the project, Timur added:
“Under this agreement, Nef will build and deliver both the School of Foreign Languages and the Science and Technology Centers. The project will comprise 5,000 square meters of enclosed space. SUBÜ is a highly visionary university that has already delivered remarkable technological achievements despite being a relatively young institution. As the Nef Foundation, we are proud to collaborate with the university and its rector on such a meaningful initiative.”
Expressing his appreciation for Nef’s support, Professor Mehmet Sarıbıyık, Rector of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, said:
“As a university dedicated to serving society, we work in close cooperation with industry. Our goal is to educate highly qualified professionals, strengthen applied research and development, and prepare our students to meet the needs of the business world. I believe this protocol will make an important contribution toward those objectives, and I sincerely thank Mr. Erden Timur for his support. We also collaborate with the Nef Foundation on several initiatives, particularly technology competitions that provide valuable opportunities for our students. Thanks to these collaborations, our students continue to achieve remarkable success, and we believe these accomplishments will continue to grow in the future.”
